Sundays of Lent 2019: With All Your Heart

“During the season of Lent, new and long-time Christians alike hear the call to return to God with all their hearts, thus entering a season historically characterized by works of discipline that have served for hundreds of years as a means to prepare new converts for baptism. Beginning with Ash Wednesday and continuing through the Sundays of Lent, the chosen scriptures clearly lead us in a pathway from God’s call, through our own repentance and reconciliation with God and one another to preparation for our public proclamation of our belief in the risen Christ. The season becomes a place for us to revisit and renew our beginnings along the Christian journey of salvation.
