Worship Ministries

Acolytesassist in worship by lighting candles, helping with baptisms, distributing offering plates to the ushers, and assisting in the distribution of Holy Communion. St Peter’s is blessed to have Middle and High School Youth serving as our acolytes.

Worship & Communion Assistants:  assist the pastor in the leading of the liturgy and in serving Holy Communion.

Hospitality Team Members:   Our Usher and Greeter teams welcome visitors and members, distribute bulletins, direct visitors to needed areas of the church, collect the offering, and guide those attending during communion. .

Lay readers: are members of the congregation who read the lessons during the designated time in worship.

Children’s Message Presenters: prepare and give a brief story to children during worship usually based on one of the Scripture texts for the day (actual message provided by church office).

Lay Eucharistic Ministers:  take communion kits from the altar after worship on the first Sunday of each month and share that sacrament with homebound members who desire more frequent communion.

Altar Guild Members: care for the altar area through changing of altar paraments and flowers, setting -up communion, and helping with communion clean-up.

Worship Recording Ministry: Recordings of the Worship Service are made each Sunday. These are available to homebound members and others who would like to listen to them. Volunteers can always be used to assist in the internal production of the CDs and with the delivery of these CDs, sharing a friendly visit with homebound members.

Technical Assistance: needed for the Contemporary Service for projection of the service and music lyrics. Assistance is also occasionally needed at other times
