Inviting & Welcoming

(formerly known as Evangelism Team)

These are the “angels” or messengers of God’s activity in this congregation, as well as servants for those who are new to, or visiting, the congregation. They develop plans to assimilate new members into the life of this congregation, fostering relationships with other members. They work with the Spiritual Gifts and Ministry Matching Teams to help new members explore areas of ministry and match gifts with needs.

 Ministry Areas Include

Bulletin / Newsletter Assembly

Bulletin Team typically meets on Friday mornings at 10:00 a.m.  Additional or alternate times are scheduled as needed to fit various holiday needs.  Newsletter Assembly happens at the end of each month.  Calls are made with interested persons to arrange this assembly and mailing.

Hospitality - Greeters

Worship Greeters are our front line of contact with those who enter our doors.  This ministry is vital in helping members and visitors connect with each other and feel the friendliness we know as St Peter's Church.

Attendance Slip Records

Weekly Attendance/Opportunities Slips are included in the Sunday Worship folders.  This is one way to communicate not only that people are here (or not here) but also to quickly and efficiently collect information needed by various ministry teams or to relay info to the church office.

Visitor Tracking & Follow–Up

Greeter information and Attendance/ Opportunity Slips help us to know when visitors are with us and to include them in correspondance and newsletter mailings when appropriate.

Technology & Communications Team

Web site maintenace, Facebook monitoring, and printed communications and advertising require specialized skills.  Even those with time and skills to resize photographs for web use are needed.  Those with technological, promotional, writing or speaking skills are encouraged to contact the church office.

Pictures of the various events and activities help us share the fun and help others to better understand those events.  Digital formats that are compatible with web functions are especially helpful.  Contact the church office for more information.

New Member Classes

St Peter's offers a series of classes to those considering membership or those who have recently joined our family of faith.  These classes include the basics of Lutheran faith as well as the opportunity to learn about the various ministries of our congregation and to meet members involved in those ministries.  This series also helps new members to connect with the Spiritual Gifts and Ministry Matching Team so that they are better able to live out their faith and serve God in ways that are meaningful.
