Congregational Care

Love Boxes:   are sent to unmarried, undergraduate college students & active duty military members, to let our young adults know that they are thought of even when they are away.  Donations are collected in January and early February.  Coordinators work from late December until the boxes are mailed around Valentines Day.

The Sweetheart Luncheon:  brings together seniors, age 70 and above (including some who are primarily “homebound”), for a special time of fellowship, entertainment, and worship.  This ministry team begins coordination in late winter for a May event.

Good Samaritan Ministry:  brings meals to members returning home from surgery or hospitalization.  As needed, members are contacted to help with donations and delivery.

Homebound Ministry Team:  connects with our members who are not able to come out to be involved, to worship, or to otherwise connect with their faith family. This team delivers seasonal “thinking of you items” along with designated Easter lilies, Christmas poinsettias, and altar flowers.

Members of this team include our Homebound Lay Eucharist (Communion) team who take the sacrament from the altar on the first Sunday of each month to those who would like to receive it.

Worship bulletins, printed sermons, and CD’s of the Sunday worship services are also made available to help these members participate in worship.

Those participating in Visitation or Homebound Communion receive training

when they join this ministry team.
