1 Timothy 4:6-16
Do not neglect the gift that is in you. (v. 14)
Taken from Christ In Our Home: Tuesday, September 7, 2010

We all have neglected gifts. More often than not, we need a word of advice and encouragement to use them again. In today's reading, Paul gives Timothy advice and encouragement for building a church community by using his gifts, reflecting on his actions, and sharing the mystery of the Christan faith.

And so we pray...Giving God, as a ministry of the mystery of faith, help me to know and use my gifts, through Christ. Amen

We are:

  • Christ Centered: We focus on modeling and following Jesus Christ.
  • Ministry Focused: God has gifted each person for ministry, and we look for ways to serve.
  • Mission Focused: Everything we do contributes to the mission of the congregation.
  • Committed to Collaboration: We work cooperatively, including between Teams, for the good of all and for the mission.
  • Committed to Excellence: Whatever our ministry, we are called to do it as well as we are gifted, recalling that whatever we do, we do for God’s glory.
  • People Focused: We respond to others with care and compassion.
  • Open to the Spirit: We want to use all the gifts God gives us.
